What Is A Squeeze Page And Why Should You Have One?

You may or may not have heard from the many marketers and gurus out there that the money is in the list. If you are new to internet marketing, you may be wondering what that means. Basically, professional online marketers gather information from their sites visitors, information such as names and e-mail addresses.

They do this by providing an opt in form where you can input your first name and e-mail address. They normally entice you to do so by providing free information that you will receive once you opt in. The goal is simple, build a list of subscribers as fast as you can. Once you have this list then you can sell to them time and time again. This applies whether you own your own product or promoting someone else’s.

So what is a squeeze page? A squeeze page is just another means of doing what I mentioned earlier. A squeeze page is a dedicated page for opt ins. It has no other purpose other than capturing names and e-mail addresses.

When you’re using a squeeze page, you essentially are not selling anything in the immediate sense. The objective of the squeeze page is to provide further information to the reader if they opt in to your list. It is critical that you understand this.

You should not provide anything else on that page, other than information enticing them to opt in. In other words, there should be absolutely no other links to any other page. This page has one goal and one goal only, which is to build your list. Once they opt in, you can then re-direct them to a sales page if you wish.

The next question is why should you have one? As I mentioned earlier, the money is in the list. Your primary goal online is to build a list of subscribers if you want to make a lot of money both now and in the future.

You should do this so as to build a list of targeted customers who are interested in a given product or service. Second, these days very few visitors buy anything on their first visit to a website. Third, having a list helps you to build a relationship with your visitors over time. Plus, once you have this list, you can make recommendations as frequently as you desire.

When it comes to doing business either online or offline, it is the customer base that determines the value. Essentially, you do not have a business unless you have customers. If all you are doing is sending visitors to a website without trying to gather their information, you are really shooting yourself in the foot.

So to build a business online you need to build a list. A squeeze page is the fastest way of doing this. To be really successful, you will need to measure the effectiveness of your squeeze page relative to the level of opt ins. You can play with various items on your page to see if it improves your opt in numbers.

To really succeed online requires focus. Understand the fundamentals. You need to have customers that you can build a relationship with and sell to over time. A squeeze page is your first tool in the bag to make this happen.
